WORKING WITH TEXTURES

Try a texture in a design

Test a surface with your own headline, colors and opacity before choosing it for your project.

A texture can add warmth, wear or contrast to a flat design. Use the creative preview to find a balance between surface detail and readable text.

1. Pick a surface

Browse Textures or a collection. Use the quick-preview button on a card, then choose Try in a design. You can also open this preview from a texture detail page.

2. Add your headline and colors

Replace the sample text with a short headline. Choose a background color and text color that suit your project. The preview stays in your browser; it does not create a new texture file.

3. Adjust the texture

Move the opacity slider to find the amount of detail you want. A low setting is a useful starting point for subtle backgrounds. Compare Normal, Multiply, Screen and Overlay to see how the surface interacts with your chosen background.

4. Check readability

Look at the headline and the small caption. If they are difficult to read, reduce texture opacity or choose colors with stronger contrast. Preview settings are for exploration; use your design editor to create the final work.

Give credit when you use the texture

Personal and commercial use require attribution to TextureStock. Open the License page and use Copy credit for the suggested wording. Design preview illustrations are examples, not downloadable texture files.
