WORKING WITH TEXTURES

Check a seamless texture

See how a tileable image repeats and check for visible edges before using it as a background.

A seamless texture is designed to repeat without an obvious border where one copy meets the next. This can be useful for larger backgrounds and repeating patterns.

Find a texture marked seamless

Use the Seamless filter in the texture catalog, or check the Seamless field on the detail page. The label describes the published file, not every surface that looks similar.

Use the repeat preview

Open Try in a design and enable Repeat / tile. This option is available only for textures marked seamless. Compare the repeated surface with the single-image view.

Inspect the joins

Look for straight lines, abrupt color changes or distinctive details that repeat too visibly. A texture can join at its edges and still have a recognizable repeating pattern. Choose the surface that works for the scale of your project.

Keep the source label accurate

If you prepare your own texture for upload, verify all four edges before marking it seamless in WordPress. Cropping or editing a seamless image can change how it repeats.

The preview demonstrates repetition; it does not repair seams or modify the original file. Attribution is still required when you use a texture in your work.
